Joseph Reeves has been working for Educational Catering Inc., the company that provides nutritional services to all five TCC campuses, since 2008. He has at one time or another in his tenure been stationed at each of the campuses but prefers NE.
“I don’t think it’s the café that’s different. I think it’s the people,” said Reeves. “Here, we actually talk to people.”
Reeves, a Texas native, graduated from Treasure Island Advanced Culinary school in San Francisco after transferring from a culinary school in McKinney. He returned to Texas in 2008 to take care of his mother.
“I was going to stay longer for pastry and cakes, but my mom got diagnosed with kidney failure,” he said. “So I came back.”
Reeves said cooking is his passion and, one day, hopes to have his own place.
“Hopefully, I can get a restaurant going,” he said. “That’s what I really want to do. I have started making my own menu, and I have a name. I just need a location.”
Be on the lookout for what he’s calling, “Joe’s Home Cooking that you can’t get at Home.”
